COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Baptism
How baptism is practiced within various church denominations can look different. Cuyahoga Valley Church practices believer’s baptism through immersion. This class on baptism will give clear understanding as to why immersion is practiced, and what that looks like. You may read more about CVC’s position at CVC’s Position on Baptism, then join us!

Discovering CVC (formerly Tell Me More)
Find out about CVC… who we are and why we exist. This course will explore our history, beliefs, mission, vision, values, structure, and affiliations. This course, along with the Discovering CVC Membership, is required for membership. This is a 2 hour course that can be taken in 1 or 2 sessions depending on the time offered.
Sunday, September 19, 5 – 7pm (2 hours, 1 time occurance) OR
Sunday, October 17 (Part 1); and Sunday October 24 (Part 2); 11:30am – 12:30pm (2wks)*
Discovering CVC Membership
Membership at CVC is both a privilege and a responsibility. Find out what it means – the benefits as well as its expectations. The course, along with Discovering CVC, is required for membership. This is a 2 hour course that can be taken in 1 or 2 sessions depending on the time offered.

Financial Peace University
Designed to help you be an effective steward of the financial resources with which you’ve been blessed. Learn to achieve financial goals like eliminating debt, saving for the future, and giving generously. This course is taught via DVD by Dave Ramsey and is typically 9 weekly sessions including a budget workshop. Cost = $100 (scholarships available if needed)
Wednesdays, October 6 – November 10, 7 – 9pm (9wks)*
Fresh Start
For new Christians or Christians who need to know the first steps for growth in the Christian life. This course usually runs for 8 weeks for 1 hour each week.

NT Journey: The Life of Jesus
Overview of the New Testament Gospels, the historical background and context of Jesus’ coming, Jesus’ life and ministry as recorded in the Gospels.

Sharing Your Faith
Learn how to develop authentic relationships with people who don’t know Christ, and find out how to share Christ with them using the Bible and also your own story of how you came to faith.

The Truth Project
The Truth Project is a DVD-based curriculum comprised of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life. This course is a great starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective.
