Rick Duncan is Senior Pastor / Teacher at Cuyahoga Valley Church.
After graduation from Vanderbilt University (B.A.—Religions Studies, 1975) and Mid-America Seminary, Memphis, Tennessee, M. Div. (1986), Rick and his wife Maryanne relocated to Ohio to pursue their passion for reaching the unchurched. Under Rick’s leadership, CVC has grown into a church family focused on discipleship while meeting the needs of others.
He and Maryanne were married in October 1976 and have three sons, Alan (1981), married to Joanna in 2006, Ryan (1987) and Evan (1993).
Andy Sikora is the Lead Teaching Pastor for sevenoseven, CVC’s young adult ministry (18 – 30+). After graduating from Huntington University, he and his wife Meri moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana for a three year adventure in youth ministry. Presently, Andy is working on a Masters Degree in Ministry Leadership from George Fox Evangelical Seminary.
Andy and Meri have been married since 2002, and have one daughter, Kenzie (2009).
Brian Howell serves as Worship Pastor. He oversees the Worship Arts Ministry at CVC that includes all areas of music, drama and technical support. Brian holds a BA in Music and Business from Anderson University (Indiana). Brian surrendered his heart to Christ in 1988 while a junior in college. After 14 years on the road as a musical director and keyboardist for several Christian artists, he is passionate about this opportunity to serve Christ through worship at CVC.
He is married to Jennifer (2000), and the father of 3 – Emily (2002), Megan (2004), and Sophie (2006).
Gregg Jacobsen, Executive Pastor
Born and raised in Cleveland, Gregg spent 22 years in the business world before joining the staff at CVC in 1999. He is responsible for overall administration and operations of the church and oversees local and national missions. Gregg holds educational degrees from Parks College of Aeronautics of St. Louis University, B.S. Aeronautical Administration (1975), and Case Western Reserve University, Master of Science in Management (1976).
He and his wife Michele Wagner Jacobsen were married in 1981, and have one son, Christopher (1995).
Gary Nave, Pastor of Family Ministries
In ministry for over 20 years, Gary oversees CVC’s growing Family Ministries and Community Groups. He is passionate about helping people grow in their spiritual walk with Christ. Ordained in 1982, Gary holds degrees from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York and Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana.
He and his wife Joyce were married in 1975 and have three girls, Beth (1979), Jessica (1982), and Megan (1989), and are presently grandparents to three boys.
Ryan Edlind, Pastor of Care Ministries
Ryan oversees the Care Ministries, which includes areas of counseling and benevolence. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Bible from Baptist Bible College (1995) and MS in Christian Counseling from Philadelphia Biblical University (1997) an MSW in Clinical Social Work from New York University (2003), and graduate studies toward an M.Div. at Baptist Bible Seminary. Ryan is also a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio and was ordained by Calvary Baptist Church in Manhattan.
He and his wife Jennifer were married in 1998 and are parents to Liam (2004) and Tyler (2007).
Dean Siley, Community Pastor for sevenoseven
With a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Kent State University, Dean joined the 707 team in January 2004. In his role as Community Pastor, he provides overall discipleship to 707 Community Group Leaders. His passion is to develop leaders and challenge them to use their gifts, time, and talent to glorify God, and build a unified community that is spiritually, physically, and mentally healthy.
He and his wife Susan were married in 2006. They have a daughter Sophia (2008) and look forward to the birth of their second daughter in April, 2010.
Denise Petek, Director of Children’s Ministry
Denise is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and staffing of children’s programs from birth through 5th grade, including training and shepherding of teachers and helpers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Toledo and is also currently enrolled with Moody Bible Institute working towards a Degree in Biblical Studies.
Denise and her husband Tom were married in 1988. They are blessed with four children, Tyler (1989), Cory (1991), Nathan (1992), Elyse (1995).
Rick Eimers, Pastor of Impact Student Ministries
Rick oversees students in grades 6 – 12 through Impact Student Ministries, coming alongside parents in an effort to grow students to be passionate followers of Christ. He believes investing in the next generation is of critical importance, and credits authors Eugene Peterson, C.S. Lewis, Larry Crabb, Donald Whitney and Dan Allender for shaping his thinking regarding ministry. Rick graduated from Baptist Bible College in 1999 with a B.S. in Bible and from Philadelphia Biblical University in 2005 with a Master’s in Counseling.
He and his wife, Brooke, were married in 2008 and recently welcomed their first child, Charlotte Cali Eimers, into the world.
Jane Rutti is the Pastoral Assistant at Cuyahoga Valley Church. A Christian since 1977, she and her husband Jim (married in 1976) have been a part of the CVC family for over 2 decades, and together have witnessed CVC’s incredible growth. Hired in June, 1989, Jane’s role has given her unique opportunity and privilege to participate in varied ministries and an ever-changing environment that this Christ-centered, growing, vibrant church affords.
Jane and Jim have two adult children, Michelle (1980), married to Jason, and Jim (1983), married to Gina. Their family includes two grandsons, with a third expected in August, 2010.
