Built on the Rock: As we wrap up our time in the beatitudes, Jesus’ teachings force us to confront a weighty decision in our lives. It’s one thing to say that He is your Savior, but when you say that Jesus is Lord, what actions in your life reflect that surrender? Like a house built in a flood plain, those who merely hear the Word and choose not to respond are ultimately wiped away when the floodwaters of life arrive. For those who build their house deep into a solid foundation however, they will not be washed away.
