I once read an article about choosing what to read and the author of the post said something that is simple yet profound – only read the best books.
I have taken this to heart over the years and I do a lot of research before I buy a book. It is grace to us that we live in a time when there are so many user reviews on just about everything – books included.
As I started my prep for the book of Ecclesiastes several weeks ago, I started to look for the top commentaries and resources. The Message of Ecclesiastes by Derek Kidner rose to the top on many lists. After reading it, I understand why. It is clear but robust in content. It is also beautifully written and quite short. You can always tell when a person knows what they are talking about because they are able to make their point in a few words.
I recommended this resource during my sermon yesterday and I wanted to provide you all with a link just in case you wanted to pick it up!
