CVCKids

CVCKids is a place where everyone is welcome! We have Sunday school classes arranged by age and stage from babies through fifth grade. Our Indispensable ministry serves people with special needs of all ages, including adults.

CVCKids is designed to make learning about God fun, impactful, and life-changing for children, and to equip parents with helpful resources to help them grow as their child’s spiritual leader. If you happen to be here on the first Sunday of the month, you can be part of our family experience called Blast where kids and parents come together to laugh and learn.

CVCKids Summer Teachers Needed!

CVCKids BVH Summer Teachers_PPT

Are you ready to sow the seeds of faith in the next generation? You can participate in nurturing the spiritual formation of the youngest attenders of our church!

We’re on the lookout for volunteers to help us in our CVCKids Sunday School classrooms from June 9th to September 1st. There are options to teach lessons, assist a lead teacher, or hold babies at either our 9:30 or 11:15 services. We’d also like to expand our list of substitute teachers who can be flexible and jump in when the need arises.

No prior experience is required. We’ll provide all the training you need to flourish in this rewarding role.

If you’re ready to make a difference, commit to helping for the short summer months and be a part of something truly special.

Parent Resources

Nothing will have greater impact in your child’s life than introducing him or her to the one, true God. CVCKids believes that the best way to do that is a parent-church partnership. God has called you, as a parent, to be your child’s primary spiritual leader. CVCKids is devoted to supporting you on the way. We offer Sunday School classes, take-home materials, and family experiences, among other things. In addition, whenever we discover items that we think will help kids grow spiritually and help parents disciple their children well, we want to share them! Below are some links to a list of our recommended resources. You can also visit our bookshelf in the lower-level foyer of the church to see physical copies. You might consider investing in some of them to add to your home!

Preschool

CVCKids offers Sunday School classes for babies and preschoolers during the 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services. Newborns to 24-month-olds are cared for by trained and loving volunteers, and their classes are determined by developmental stage, creating a safe environment for each and every baby. Beginning at 2 years old and carrying on until they enter Kindergarten, children are taught three basic biblical truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Volunteers use a variety of activities and teaching methods to help children grasp Bible stories and foundational concepts about God. Below are some links to help you continue the learning throughout the week, or to teach a lesson from home if you aren’t able to attend in person on a particular Sunday.

Elementary

CVCKids offers Sunday School classes for kindergarteners through 4th graders at the 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services. During Sunday School, they study a new virtue each month, opening the Bible to discover how God displays the virtue as a part of His character and how He wants to grow the same thing in them. The children participate in both a small group and large group setting. During large group time, the Bible story is presented by talented storytellers. In their small-setting LifeGroup, children build friendships with one another and learn how God’s Word applies to their lives. Below are some links to help you stay updated and to continue the learning throughout the week at home.

Blast!

Blast! is our family experience where children and their grown-ups come together to learn and have fun. Enjoy the music, skits, and videos, and get a chance to win a copy of our recommended resource for the month. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with your child and be inspired to lead him or her spiritually at home. Blast! is designed to correlate with the K-4th grade curriculum, but all ages are welcome to attend. You can join us on the first Sunday of every month in the lower level of the church at 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Fifth Grade

Fifth graders within CVCKids begin to examine what they believe about God and why they believe it. The Explore curriculum is designed to help them take ownership of their faith, while also examining essential ideas about God and the Bible. The lessons are interactive and applicable, promoting critical thinking and spiritual growth. Although not mandatory, parents are invited to attend class with their child each week. It is a wonderful time for you to not only discover what is being taught, but also to learn (or be reminded of) foundational truths alongside your child. Fifth graders will meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:15 from September through early June. During the summer they graduate as sixth graders to Collide, our Middle School Ministry.

Indispensable

Indispensable is a ministry to children and adults with special needs.

Sunday School

CVCKids offers Indispensable Sunday School classes at the 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services every week. The Indispensable area includes a multi-sensory room, as well as a friendly classroom where students will study an interactive Bible lesson. Above, you’ll find a link to watch part of the weekly Sunday School lesson.

Our Indispensable LifeGroup for teens and adults with special needs meets on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. At LifeGroup, there are Bible lessons, fun activities, and music in lower-level room 113 at the CVC Broadview Heights campus. Zoom is available. Reach out to Denise Petek at dpetek@cvconline.org if you are interested in that virtual option, or if you have any questions about Indispensable.

Throughout the year, we also offer karaoke nights and a special needs prom called Night to Shine. So, check back here for updates!
